On July 10th, at the Embassy of Vietnam in Japan, Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu received Mr. Yamaguchi Natsuo, Chairman of Komeito and other senior members of the Party.

Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu and Mr. Yamaguchi Natsuo discussed measures to promote Vietnam-Japan relations, including the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and Komeito, the partner of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) in the ruling coalition. Mr. Yamaguchi affirmed that Komeito and he personally has always attached importance to the relationship with Vietnam and the Communist Party of Vietnam and would continue to contribute to promoting Japan-Vietnam relations, bringing about practical benefits to the two peoples.

Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu kindly requested Mr. Yamaguchi, with his prestige and influence, to continue supporting Vietnam, especially in cooperation in human resource development, digital transformation, green transformation, creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Japan.

On this occasion, the two sides also discussed about Mr. Yamaguchi's upcoming visit to Vietnam scheduled in mid-August. This will be the first visit of a high-level delegation from Komeito to Viet Nam, and is also part of the events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations.
