Miyagi Prefecture, Japan, Supports Vietnamese People in Overcoming Flood and Storm Damage
On October 31, Atsushi Kamada, President of the Japan-Vietnam Exchange Association in Miyagi Prefecture, visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan to present gifts supporting Vietnam in recovering from the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 (internationally known as Yagi), valued at 1 million yen (approximately 170 million VND).
During the meeting, H.E. Mr. Pham Quang Hieu, Vietnam's Ambassador to Japan, expressed his deep gratitude for the special support from the Japan-Vietnam Exchange Association in Miyagi, especially as Vietnam continues to work hard to recover and rebuild after Typhoon No. 3. The ambassador emphasized that both Vietnam and Japan, particularly Miyagi Prefecture, face various natural disasters each year, such as earthquakes and floods, fostering a sense of empathy and timely support during difficult times.
For his part, President Kamada highlighted that the association's members were aware of the severe devastation caused by Typhoon No. 3 in northern mountainous provinces of Vietnam through media reports, and they agreed to join hands with the Vietnamese people to overcome the aftermath and quickly rebuild affected areas. He also expressed hope that the exchange and cooperation between Miyagi Prefecture and localities in Vietnam would continue to be strengthened, especially in the field of public health workforce development.
