Ambassador Designate of Vietnam to Japan H.E. Mr. Pham Quang Hieu paid a courtesy call on former Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Suga Yoshihide on June 22.

H.E. Mr. Suga Yoshihide congratulated Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu on his appointment as Ambassador of Vietnam to Japan, and expressed his desire to strengthen bilateral cooperation to elevate bilateral relations to a new height, especially this year of 2023 marking the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations.

H.E. Mr. Suga Yoshihide spoke highly of the contributions by the Vietnamese community in Japan and affirmed his support for the improvement of the living and working environment for foreign workers living in Japan, including Vietnamese worker. H.E. Mr. Suga Yoshihide also confirmed that whether in the position of former Prime Minister or Advisor to the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance, he will always support the strengthening of Viet Nam-Japan bilateral relations.

Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu conveyed greetings and gratitude from the leaders of Vietnam to former Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide for his great contributions to bilateral relations between the two countries. Ambassador Designate Pham Quang Hieu reported to former Prime Minister Suga of his priority duties during his Ambassadorship in Japan.
